Here we are…

For those of you who have no idea who I am, I guess I should give a bio.

My name is Frank Hall. I have always loved the written word and have been a voracious reader since I was little. In 2006 I opened a small used bookstore in my hometown called That Book Place. It was wonderful being surrounded by the books that I loved. In 2009 I decided to enter the publishing world and started Hydra Publications which I sold and is now in the wonderful hands of Tony Acree who has led it on in my stead to become a top-notch press.

A good friend, Stephen Zimmer, decided that our region needed a writing focused convention and thus Imaginarium was born in 2014. I worked as a senior staff member from the beginning alongside Stephen and several other wonderful souls. I have since stepped back as being on the senior staff but I still attend every year. If you have not had a chance to attend you should look it up and really consider it. There are normally 150 hours of programming throughout the weekend almost exclusively for writers.

Due to a shoulder injury I had to shut down That Book Place in the Summer of 2015. In 2016, I got word that a small bookstore in a neighboring town was going to close after 30 years. Well, when you get to know me better you will learn I couldn’t let that happen and with the help of my Friends, Tony Acree and Lynn Tincher, we bought the store and kept it alive.

Unfortunately, the timing and distance took a toll on everyone involved and after a year we sold to another individual who has since moved the store and renamed it. If you are in the Louisville, KY area you should check out Nanny Goat Books!

So here we are, 2019, and it has been far to long since I have been a part of the writing world. When I still owned Hydra I had the thought in my head that is now Legendary Tales. And that is where we are now.

Its the beginning of a new story. The story of Legendary Tales magazine. I am really excited about starting this new journey and look forward to the future and what it will bring.
